Ukraine receives $5 million from Qatar for medical care

The Ukrainian Ministry of Health has received $5 million from the Qatar Fund for Development under the United24 fundraising platform.

The ministry said so in a statement published on its website, reports Ukrinform.

According to the report, the funds will be used to purchase ambulances and anesthesia machines for inhalation anesthesia during surgical operations in medical institutions.

“For the first time in United24’s two months of operation, a significant fund has gone towards medical care. Such donations of funds are critically important to us, as we understand that with a single payment, we can cover a great need,” Ukraine said. Health Minister Viktor Liashko.

He thanked the fund for “a significant contribution to saving lives”. “We invite other organizations to cooperate so that the funds raised to help Ukrainians are used effectively and wisely,” he added.

On May 17, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the initiative to create the United24 national brand to unite the efforts of international partners in favor of Ukraine.

The United24 fundraising platform should become a “one-stop shop” for donations from charities, international partners and citizens to support Ukraine in the following areas: assistance to the armed forces, humanitarian, medical assistance and assistance to the children, recovery of infrastructures. , digital and informational resistance to armed aggression.

As of July 23, more than $5 billion has been raised to support Ukraine through the United24 platform.
