New health facilities inaugurated in Madurai | Madurai News

Madurai: Minister of Health My Subramanian on Tuesday inaugurated several new health facilities at various locations in Madurai district. Earlier in the day, the minister also inspected the screening of international passengers for monkeypox and Covid-19 at Madurai Airport.
The minister inaugurated health sub-centres in rural areas. Buildings set at 25 lakh each were inaugurated in Perungamanallur, Uthapuram, Mallapuram and E Kottaipatti. At Madurai Medical College, the minister inaugurated an indoor sports stadium for students worth 3.3 crores, which was entirely established with funds from the college’s alumni association.
The minister also spoke to doctors from the alumni association and said it was encouraging to see alumni coming together to create a one-of-a-kind facility at a government medical school. Minister for Trade Taxes and Registration, P Moorthy and Minister for Finance Palanivel Thiagarajan accompanied Subramanian. In the evening, Madras HC Chief Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari inaugurated an “exclusive breast” ANIMALS scanning facility at Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Center.
