Mir Ali Functional Hospital providing health facilities in L…

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the help of other stakeholders, has made functional the outpatient department, theater of operations and other facilities of the central tehsil hospital Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan district for make life easier for the local population.

Following the recent gradation, arrivals at the OPD have increased to 300-400 people per day.

A report that the Support Agency for the Development of Rural and Human Associations (SARHAD) shared with the provincial government said that Mir Ali Hospital provides the best healthcare facilities to the residents at their doorstep.

He said that before the recent gradations, the hospital lacked basic facilities with only 30-30 patients visiting the OPD daily. However, the report states that as a result of the upgrade of hospital facilities under the public-private partnership (PPC), the facilities provided by the hospital have improved, resulting in an increase in the number of visitors.

The report also indicates that SARHAD faced considerable challenges after the launch of the project in early May this year.

He said that many people created obstacles in the execution of the project; however, the non-governmental organization (NGO) continued to provide quality health facilities to the local population.

Furthermore, the improvement of health infrastructure; the dilapidated hospital building was also renovated and new equipment was also purchased.

The report said the organization was facing issues related to the safety of its employees and accommodation due to the remoteness of the area. However, the hospital’s living quarters were cleared of outsiders and turned over to staff.

Likewise, the report states that specialists, doctors, nurses and female health workers have also been hired at this facility.

In addition to this, the operating room, ECG, pharmacy, laboratory, X-ray, blood bank, ultrasound, children, men and women have also been made functional, benefiting a lot of local people.
